Monday - Friday (Hybrid Schedule possibility) Our Behavioral Health Counselor, School Based, will be responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned clients at the designated school location and will provide consultation services to the school staff to support the overall mental health goals.
Clinician will also provide behavioral health counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families in the surrounding community and provide same day behavior health services to patients who may be in distress and in need of immediate assistance.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health patients along with effective treatment planning and assist patients in successfully achieving goals.
Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.
Assist in the detection of at risk patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
Provides consultation for school staff regarding mental health issues of clients (as appropriate).
Participates in the collection of mental health information and student outcomes data to be used for monitoring the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided.
Maintains regular contact with the parent/guardian of each patient (if appropriate).
Identify problems related to patient services and make recommendations for improvement.
Provide group psychoeducation therapy to community organizations or on site.
Provide supervision to students or unlicensed behavioral health personnel as assigned by Behavioral Health Lead and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
Participate in parent teacher conferences, meet with parents, interpretation services as needed.
Integration period, lunchroom walk through, recess participation, greeting students at the door.
Assist clinics for same day mental health appointments during school breaks, holidays closure, in-service days, non-student attendance days.
Continue individual, group therapy in summer and same day mental health during summer.

Master of Social Work degree or related field, required2.
Current Illinois license as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, or Clinical Psychologist, required3.
Bilingual English/Spanish, required.

Knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for school-aged children and possess the skills necessary to facilitate positive change in a school environment.
