7 Quick Apply Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description The Human Resource Generalist will oversee daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring, interviewing, administering pay, benefits, leaves of absence, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and laws and regulations.
Review company policies, procedures, and employment practices to maintain compliance.
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; complaints and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Conduct or participate in EHS walk-throughs with management and report results to Sr.
Director of HR/EHS.
Full life cycle recruitment for non-exempt positions including collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings, support all functions and processes related to onboarding and offboarding of employees including background screening, new hire orientation, exit interviews, etc.
Process and submit all unemployment documentation timely, monitor for resolution, and communicate status to management.
Work closely with staffing agencies to request temps and cancel assignments.
Process monthly billing from staffing agency and union; timely review of billing for accuracy and resolution of discrepancies.
Provide support and training for three (3) shifts.
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments.
This may include EHS training, anti-harassment training, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Investigate and advise employees and management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues utilizing the company polices and Union contract.
Assist with benefits administration including enrollments and terminations for medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits, and COBRA.
Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, short/long term disability changes.
Process, track, and manage all types of leaves of absence (including FMLA, USERRA, PDA, BFLA, Personal, etc.
) and send weekly notifications to management.
Ensure timely follow up and communication with employee.
Attend and coordinate meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English and Spanish required.
Competent knowledge of labor laws.
Ability to work independently and accurately.
Strong critical and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Advanced level PC literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years' experience in HR Generalist role SHRM-CP credential preferred.
